Hello from the McKinley Family and all of the BEI team!
My name is Danny McKinley and I own and run Sheans Horse Farm and Bespoke Equestrian Ireland along with my wife Mary, son Donal, daughter Therese, nephew Daniel and a whole host of other staff who are completely dedicated to our horses and our guests.
Sheans Horse Farm is our equestrian centre and Bespoke Equestrian Ireland is our tour operating business which allows us to put together all-inclusive riding holiday packages which include transport, accommodation and everything in between.
We really do have one of the most iconic, picturesque and dramatic coastlines in the world (just ask Lonely Planet) and what better way to experience it than on the back of one of our trusted Irish cobs or Irish sports horses. Our aim is to provide clients with quality horse riding experiences while helping them to become immersed in our local community and culture.
You may come as visitors but leave as friends, having developed a strong connection and sense of belonging with our country, our horses and our people.
We look forward to giving you a traditional Irish family welcome!

EXCELLENT Based on 300 reviews Posted on Maisy Grassie FayTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Fantastic group of people, horses, and places to explore! They did a wonderful job matching horses and riders. We were also fed very well.Posted on Gillian Harris-SwemTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had the best time on a hack with Bespoke Equestrian Ireland. Their yard was originally supposed to be closed for the day but they were so accommodating and were able to book me in for a 2 hour hack. Their horses were incredibly well-cared for, well worked, and they had an amazing variety for all levels. The instructors and workers were so kind, friendly, and encouraging especially as a lapsed novice rider who was a bit nervous during the faster bits. I did a solo hack so they went at my pace but encouraged me in the trots and canters. They also took some photos and gave me tips for my riding. I cannot recommend them enough if you’re looking for a place to ride in Northern Ireland. The incredible views were also 10/10Posted on Rachel ClydeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Highly recommend BEI - the horses were incredibly well trained but not at all dull. We got to see so much, and had fantastic guides. 10/10!Posted on Marjorie StricklandTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My eight riding companions and I spent an incredible week in Ireland on an Equitours trip led by Bespoke Equestrian Ireland, and it truly exceeded all expectations. We explored stunning Irish landscapes, learned fascinating local history, and enjoyed delicious regional cuisine all while riding beautiful, well-cared-for horses who were spirited yet wonderfully safe and responsive. The guides were exceptional: knowledgeable, expert horsemen and women who brought humor, kindness, and passion to every day of the trip. A special shoutout to Ben, whose quick wit and great stories kept us laughing throughout our adventures. It was a week of unforgettable scenery, wonderful people, and perfectly matched horses. It was an experience I would recommend to any rider dreaming of exploring Ireland on horseback!Posted on Sharon RTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. BEI is a wonderful company! True horse people who care for their horses and clients at the highest level. I cannot recommend them enough!Posted on donna hoeszleTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My riding experience with BEI was awesome! Their Irish Cobs were the most surefooted horses I had ever been on in my 52 years of riding. The fantastic planning and organization of the farm, led us to unbelievable sights in Northern Ireland. Donal and his assistants kept the horses, riders, and guides all sorted out. Alana kept a close eye on the horses and riders while answering questions and taking pictures. Katie B was encouraging and watchful. I found it easy and safe to gallop down the beach behind Alana and her cob. Thanks for the great videos. The final day Ben and Anna were great guides as we learned more about the horse industry in the area as we rode on another beach and enjoyed more gallops. Katie Mac and Corral led another lovely hack to dinner and the Giant's Causeway. The hospitality of Melisa at our B and B was exceptional. This was truly a wonderful trip for me!!!Posted on Rachel LaFontaineTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Absolutely lovely staff, horses and overall experience. The views were spectacular! Grace and everyone else we encountered were super knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and made you feel comfortable and welcome right off the bat. We will definitely return. It was our first time riding English style and it took some getting used to, but loved every second of it. Prices are very fair as well. Thanks Grace for all the great stories.Posted on Risa FahyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had the most incredible experience with Bespoke Equestrian Ireland on their signature week-long trip. From start to finish, everything was seamless and unforgettable. Staying at the Galgorm was a true luxury, and the riding experience exceeded all expectations. Our guides—Mel, Katie, Katy, and Debbie—were absolutely fantastic. Each brought such warmth, knowledge, and fun energy to the rides. The horses were beautifully trained, responsive, and so clearly well cared for and loved, which made the experience even more special. Behind the scenes, Daniel, Donal, and Gemma handled all the logistics flawlessly, ensuring every detail was taken care of so we could simply enjoy ourselves. Donal’s history lessons added such richness and depth to the trip, giving us a real appreciation for the landscapes and places we were exploring on horseback. This was truly the trip of a lifetime—perfectly balanced between adventure, history, relaxation, and genuine hospitality. I cannot recommend Bespoke Equestrian Ireland highly enough!Posted on Jill PorterTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I just returned from the MOST AMAZING 6-Day Castles, Causeway Coast and Countryside experience with my 25 yr old daughter with Bespoke. Safety for the riders and well-being of the horses are the top priority, though the rides are also tailored to the skill level of the clients, enabling our group to experience adrenaline pumping “wee cantors” along vast stretches of beaches and through the stunning countryside. My daughter, who rides professionally, didn't stop grinning the entire week, nor did I despite not being anywhere near as experienced a rider. From our terrific lead guides on the different days (Sarah, Debbie and Mel), we learned tons about Northern Ireland - about steeplechase Thoroughbred racing, traditional fox hunting, and differences in the many types of sheep we encountered, not to mention history of the area. We were also joined on each ride by a second BEI team member (Alanah, Coral and Katie- all dedicated and cheerful) who helped us safely cross roads, made unexpected tack adjustments, and ensured gates were closed so sheep didn’t escape as we crossed through lush fields. It takes a village to run such a smooth operation and Donal, Gemma and Theresa (to name a few) do an amazing job with the logistics, from perfectly matching riders and horses, selecting breathtaking locations, arranging lunches at quaint pubs, and coordinating transportation so we could explore some of the lovely spots in the area at the end of the day. I cannot imagine a better riding holiday! (Special shoutout to the best steeds, Magic and Skye, for being the real stars who made our vacation so fun)Posted on Kerry DorfmanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. A fabulous vacation. Ireland and Bespoke equestrian were beyond fabulous. Great horses, great accommodations and great staff.
